Angry, suprised, tired, hungry, sleepy…

Posted in American Idol 8, Talk..Talk..Talk.. on May 21, 2009 by naziah

… is what I’m feeling at this moment.

My morning started very well. 8am I was already in Shah Alam. Got the LHDN thingy done within 5 minutes. Went to the Imigresen dengan perasaan penuh semangat. Sampai kaunter, budak Imigresen tu pun kata, ’semua dah lengkap… TAPI yang ini kita kena hantar pergi Pengarah untuk approval sebab yang ni untuk second maid. Jadi kalau untuk Pengarah, kita kena submit employment letter jugak’. Dengan mata ku yang merah menyala like the fire of Mordor, hati ku hancur macam mashed potato, I knew, I had to come down all the way to KL and request the letter from ofis. DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! I guess I spoke too soon about Imigresen…

So, me, being in the ofis means that I missed AI finale… I managed to catch the announcement bit from Rickey.org live telecast tho. Kris Allen won is the biggest upset ever. But I actually thought he would win after last nite’s performances. Why? I think he won because of sympathy vote. The song, No Boundaries, was so obviously biased meant for Adam Lambert. Kris couldn’t hit those high notes. Even Adam sang it pitchy. The song is just horrible. It sounded as if an amature wrote it. As what Simon said, ‘the mountains and hurricanes song’. IMHO, it was the ugliest song ever in AI history. Whatever it is, my Wednesdays and Thursdays are empty again… Congratulations to Kris Allen. But unfortunately, we all kno Adam Lambert will be the bigger star.

Ok… I’m all zen and calm. I’ll do some work before I drive back home and continue work from home. Adios!

It’s getting hotter – Top 3

Posted in American Idol 8 on May 13, 2009 by naziah

I hope it’s not like the “Mindy-Doo Incident”… You kno… The best singer (or perfomer, in this season’s case) of the season being kicked out before the big Kodak Theater moment…

Let’s get it on with the singing;

Danny

  • Dance Little Sister – Very energetic but not his best performance.  He sounded like almost shouting. And why are they arguing about the dancing???? If the Americans voted for Taylor Hicks, you have nothing to worry about Danny boy!
  • You Are So Beautiful – S-E-X-Y! It’s just soooo romantic. The arrangement, the singing… Sigh…

Kris

  • Apologize – He didn’t do anything different with the song but I have no issue with that. I love the performance. I’m not a fan of the song tho. And I totally agree with His-Highness. Randy and Kara chooses the song and they are not happy with it?! say whaaaaat?!!!!!!!!!
  • Heartless – I love his version of this song. Excellent… Amazing… He’s cute… Not relevant is it? Who cares???

Glambert

  • One – His-Highness is a clever, clever man. The best song, from the best group. Glambert is so blessed. And his vocal… WOW!
  • Cryin’ - My biasness will never end with this guy. He sang my favorite Aerosmith song perfectly. And he is a good strategist. You CANNOT change too much with songs like that. The die hard fans will throw stones at you if you change it. If I can vote, he’ll definitely get me calling his number 10 times…

So who’s going to the final? Hard to say… The most deserving would be Adam. I can’t choose between Danny and Kris. If it’s not the “Mindy-Doo Incident”, I guess Danny would be getting the votes. If the Americans decide that Adam is just too dramatic for the show, they will terminate him this week. Well, I hope not. I can’t wait to see what trick he’s got left under his dark, dark mascara… Go Glambert!!!!

Movie Nite – Top 7

Posted in American Idol 8 on April 15, 2009 by naziah

I like this week… I like most of the performances and I especially like the songs.

Allison – Aerosmith is one of my favorite band and I think this girl is really brave choosing a song as BIG as I don’t wanna miss a thing. I thought she could make a better impact if the key was one note higher. Nonetheless, the perforwance was very good.

Anoop – I love the movie, I love the song, and most of all, I love Bryan Adams. Anoop did a flawless job with the singing. Another excellent performance, but there ain’t no one better to sing Everything I Do than the original singer. I think it’s BA’s husky voice made the song romantic.

Glambert – Like I’m watching his concert! He was born to be wild!!! Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Matt – It’s one of the most romantic song ever written, sung by one of the best singer ever, for one of the most beautiful movie ever, starring one of the sexiest male specimen on earth ever. And theeeeeen, he sang out of tune…. If you still make it to next week Matt, please don’t be too ambitious.

Danny – I didn’t like the beginning, but the middle and the end of the song was fantastic. And they needs to stop pimping his late wife…

Kris – I told my SIL, I bet the boys won’t like the song and the performance, and the girls will be swooning. True enuff, Randy didn’t like it, and Kara/Paula was in love. And I’m in love too. I thought it was a great soulful performance. And Kris is REALLY cute!

Lil Round – Didn’t like her attitude and she didn’t sing it well. I hope she goes home.

The best performance of the nite goes to Glambert.

The worst performance is a tie between Matt and Lil Round.

Who goes home? Anoop… Hehehehehe…

Top 8 minus 7

Who cares what every body else are singing?! I’m not even bothered to comment on any of the performances. Even the good ones (I thought Matt and Danny were good) looked amaturish. This is all because of that Lambert dude… And we finally see eye to eye; Mr Cowell and I. As Rickey always say; Go Glambert!

Top 9 AI

I’m not in the mood to give any seperate comments because I didn’t concentrate much.

The judges need to stop pimping Danny Gokey. Yes, we get the fact that he can sing. I still think he was kinda shouting the song. Megan should go. She sounds like a goat again. I like Allison’s performance and agree with the judges on the ugly outfit, but then who cares???? Matt is in trouble. Scott did better. I hope Lil Round goes home. I’m marrying Adam Lambert and I don’t care if he’s gay or straight. I just need him to sing to me every time before I go to sleep, or work, or eat, or breathe. Kris Allen is also very good and cute. I think Anoop will be going home.

Motown nite – Top 10

Posted in American Idol 8 on March 26, 2009 by naziah

Let’s just say I’m carrying a huge big banner with the sign ‘Adam Lambert For President’ tonight… Ok… Nuff’ blushin’ about Adam…

Matt Giraud (Let’s get it on) – A very good opening for the nite. He made the song very funky and sexy.

Kris Allen - I didn’t watch his performance… Sorry…

Scott MacIntyre – Not good. Very pitchy. I hope America doesn’t give him any sympathy vote.

Megan Joy (For once in my life) - She sounds like a goat. She might be in trouble as well.

Anoop (Baby baby) – Good vocal but very boring performance. I felt like he was falling asleep… But sleepy or not, dude can sing!

Michael Sarver (Ain’t too proud too beg) – Beg for the votes Sarver cause the performance was not good! It was all over the place! I was hoping that it’ll be his nite since he’s got that very nice suave tone in his voice. Might be going home as well.

Lil Rounds (Heatwave) – My humble opinion has been agreed upon by Kara. This lady doesn’t sing, she shouts! It was a bad performance and Smokey my man, I wouldn’t want her to sing my phonebook!

ADAM LAMBERT (Tracks of my tears) – I’m SOOOOOOOOO buying this track from iTunes. I’ll pay the bloody 99cents just for him… And I love the clean look. Very very handsome. Go Lambert!

Danny Gokey (Get ready) – His fans might throw rocks and burn my house. I didn’t think that it was his best performance. He was half shouting the song. I mean, I’m a huge fan but I thought the performance was too ‘noisy’.

Allison Iraheta (Papa was a rolling stone) – Fantastic singer she is! I wasn’t a fan before but now I’m beginning to like her. Very talented. Love the husky vocal.

Who’s going home? Me thinks it’s Sarver… But also Anoop is in a very dangerous ground. His boring performance might be forgettable…

Country week – Top 11

Posted in American Idol 8 on March 18, 2009 by naziah

Other than the bickerings between Simon and Paula, Paula’s cleavage is stealing the show tonight… Overall, it was not a bad week. No one sang ugly-ly or out of tunes. Most of the performances were safe and forgettable. Let’s get on with my opinions this week:

Michael Sarver (Ain’t going down till the sun comes up) – It was a very hard song to sing. I think the performance was all over the place but still ok… However, he didn’t get to show off his vocals tho.

Allison Iraheta (Blame it on your heart) – Country with a twist of rock n roll… Really, really good performance. I’m not a huge fan but she did pretty well. I have a love-hate relationship with her husky voice.

Kris Allen (To make you feel my love) – He’s really cute!!! And one of the best performance tonight. It didn’t sound too country-ish, which made the song acceptable to my ears. Yeay Kris!

Lil Rounds (Independence day) – I’m never a fan of hers because I think she’s shouting, not singing… And Simon is so funny… Calling her ‘Little’… Hahahahahaha! And I agree, she sounded like a wedding singer. And stop being a smartass, giving excuses for your bad performance. ‘Mary talks little’… Hahahaha! I love you Simon!

Adam Lambert (Ring of fire) – Can’t he just do it straight up? I hated the performance. It was weird (some people may call it unique). I’m just happy that it was over and I’m pretty sure he’ll be safe this week because he’s got strong fanbase. He still gets my vote. I still love him.

Scott MacIntyre (Wild angels) – Funny, funny dude… I agree with Paula. He should ditch the piano once in a while. The whole performance was ok but it was a safe performance. Nothing different or special about it. And they kept avoiding the negative comments. Why????

Alexis Grace (Jolene) – An ‘ok’ country performance. But very forgettable. I like her tho. I hope people vote for her.

Danny Gokey (Jesus take the wheel) – Another strong performance by Danny. He’s smart for choosing this song. He didn’t change the song much and that’s clever. People just want to listen to the song once in a while…

Anoop (Always on my mind) – Go Anoop!!!!! Woohoo!!!! Bravo! Standing ovation from me! Yeaaaay!!!!!!!!!!!

Megan Corkrey (Walking after midnight) – Did I say that I love her personality already? Not crazy about the whole performance but it was something different. At a certain point, she sounded like a goat. maybe because she’s sick. I hope she’s still in next week.

Matt Giraud (So small) – My favorite performance of the week. It wasn’t perfect but I just love the whole piano-playing-non-country-sounding performance.

The best performance goes to Anoop, hands down. Who’s going home? Either Michael or Scott not because their performance were bad, but it was forgettable (but I secretly wish Lil Round going home this week).

Michael Jackson’s Nite – Top 13

Posted in American Idol 8 on March 11, 2009 by naziah

I’ll get straight to the comments:

Lil Round (The Way You Make Me Feel) – Too over the top IMO… I didn’t like it that much.

Scott MacIntyre (Keep The Faith) – Not that good but he’ll get thru due to sympathy vote. The song choice was not good and the peformance was too safe…

Danny Gokey (Pretty Young Thing) – The beginning of the song was weird. As he gets into the faster beat, it was fantastic. He knos how to work the crowd.

Michael Sarver (You Are Not Alone) – What I like about the performance is that he didn’t sing the song as it is. Not the best vocalist but it was just ok.

Jasmine Murray (I’ll Be There) – She sounds like Christina Aguilera (a bit)… Again, another safe performance. If I can vote, I won’t vote for her tho…

Kris Allen (Remember The Time) – I have a thing with this song. I think it’s one of the sexiest song ever existed. Eventhough the vocal was not good, but I like the whole performance. I thot it was charming.

Allison Iraheta (Give In To Me) – Never heard the song before. Not my cuppa tea… Her performance was ok vocally. I just wish she choose a different song.

Anoop (Beat It) – He needs to put in more ‘umphhh’ in it. More power or better yet, sing a different song.

Jorge (Never Can Say Goodbye) – BADDDDD! So unfortunate… He’s got the voice but the song choice was not good.

Megan Corkrey (Rockin Robin) – I love her stage presence! I love the performance. Not the best singer tho…

Adam Lambert (Black Or White) – I’m a fan! The whole performance was over the top but who cares?????!!!!! Go Adam! Woohoooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Matt Giraud (Human Nature) – The song suits him well. Good performance!

Alexis Grace (Dirty Diana) – There were parts of the song that I feel she was struggling with. Overall, I like it.

Who’s going home? Simon said 2 people, so my picks are Michael Sarver and Jasmine Murray.

Group 2 – Eh???

Posted in American Idol 8 on February 26, 2009 by naziah

I’m really pissed off with the judges for not putting Jamar thru now… Group 1 was boring, this group is just terrible.

  • Jasmine Murray (Love Song) – I hope she gets a second chance in the wildcard round because I think she’s unique. The song choice was not bad but the vocal was not good. I think she over-did the song.
  • Matt Giraud (Viva La Vida) – He should’ve gone with a blues song. Viva La Vida is one of the best song in 2008 and his voice is sooooo not suitable for it. Wrong song bro!
  • Jeanine Vailes (This Love) – It was so bad, even Paula can’t lie about it. And yes, she does have great legs…
  • Norman Gentle (And I’m Telling You) – The most entertaining, I agree. But unfortunately, this is a singing competition, not The Last Comic Standing. It’s people like this, who doesn’t take this competition seriously, who makes me angry at the judges, for wasting the top 36 spot on them. Jamar should’ve gotten the spot!
  • Allison Iraheta (Alone) – There was moments where I thought she was pitchy but compared to the rest of the contestants, she was one of the good ones…
  • Kris Allen (Man In The Mirror) – The voice was okay, but not great. The song choice was weird. His performance was forgettable.
  • Megan Corkrey (Put Your Records On) – I love her tone but it was very pitchy. The vocal was all over the place. But I still love her… And I love her hair…
  • Matt Breitzke (If You Can Only See) – Very safe and normal and boring performance. To sum it up; forgettable.
  • Jesse Langseth (Betty Davis Eyes) – One of my favorite song. Despite a few ‘out of breathe’ moments, I think it was a good performance. One of my favorite tonight.
  • Kai Kalama (What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted) – What’s wrong with him? Why is he singing this type of depressing song??? Why? Why? WHY?
  • Mishavonna (Drops Of Jupiter) – She’s got a nice tone to her voice. But it was the wrong song for her. She should’ve gone for something from Christina Aguilera.
  • Adam Lambert (Satisfaction) – The best tonite, but not his best performance ever. I adore his uniqueness… Go Team Lambert! Woohoo!!!! He’ll sail thru to the next round tho…

This week, I don’t really care whoever goes thru. I’m still angry with the judges for putting ‘NONSENSE’ in the top 36…
