And the moon rises to its glory

So does Jacob Black… Beautiful, beautiful boy… SIGH!

I must admit that Edward is the IDEAL romantic man, but I still prefer the bad wolf boy. I have this weakness for native men. In my humble, humble opinion, they have the most scenic (if I may use this term) skin color. And not to mention the hair… Beautiful black vidal sassoon hair… Picture this —> NUNO BETTENCOURT! Nuff said about those beautiful (4th time I used this term in this post…) red Indians (it’s not offensive to use this term, right?).

Back to the movie, truth be told, I only give it a B… Why? Apart from those crazy wolf transformation CGI, I felt that the movie was too short. Not a lot of scenes between Bella and Jacob actually. 1/3 of the movie was focused on how Bella was pining for Edward. But then again, it’s the same with the book… So I won’t comment on that. All those Twilight fans would kill me if I say nonsense about the books/movies.

What I like about the movie? The half naked wolf pack of course! Sam and the others are just a relief for sore eyes (or just lasered eyes. heh..). Would I recommend it to the rest of you? Yes, if you are a fan and have read the book (otherwise you won’t understand much). No, to Cat, because she will just roll her eyes from the start to the end… Marina, Benny, you must go. LOVE THE ABS babies! Love the abs…

Can’t wait!

Jennifer’s Body

Posted in Movies and TVs on November 11, 2009 by naziah

Scary…

I like the movie (surprisingly…). The story line is simple, Megan Fox is super hot, Adam Brody got sexier…

The story is about Jennifer, who was used as a sacrifice to satan, but the dudes got it wrong because she’s not a virgin, hence she became a succubus (a beautiful demon who eats people). I’m not gonna give any spoiler here. It’s not a ‘must watch’ but if you have some time to spare and nothing better to do, go for it. Megan Fox is really, really hot!

I give the movie a C+.

This is it

Now I kno why he’s called the ‘King of Pop’.

I went to watch the documentary today. Some might not appreciate it but for music lovers, this is it! It’s the reference guide on how to conduct your own concert.

The late King was a perfectionist. Very, very cerewet to the point that I think those talented hardworking musicians might have hated his gut like hell. I always thought he lip-sync but he doesn’t and he still sound so good. No doubt he was the best dancer ever. Don’t even get me started on the technologies for the concert itself. The pyro-techniques, the Smooth Criminal video, and especially the Thriller clip… OMG!

He was also very hands-on on every single aspect of the concert. From the music beat to the dancers, he was just amazing. If he was still around, it would have been his greatest concert ever.

To all music and dance lovers; MUST WATCH! It is so inspiring.

I’m not rating it because I’m very much humbled by it.

Too late!

I never thought I’d say this but I’m hooked on Gossip Girl. It’s one hell of a scary bitchy show…

I think Serena’s character is too weak.

I think Dan is cute (so what??? I like ‘em nerdy.)

I think Chuck is a tortured soul.

I think Nate has got beautiful eyes but he’s too pretty for my liking.

I think Jenny is dumb.

I love Blair! That’s what a bitch should be like. Strong and confident.

And I started watching Glee as well. That’s an A+ show. A must watch for those who love music.

Gossip Girl

Should I start?

I tried watching the first episode once and half way thru I fell asleep. But that was way back when I was heavily pregnant. I’m running out of things to watch. I’m so up-to-date with my usual programs (House, Grey’s Anatomy, Bones, Supernatural, CSI Vegas). I’m contemplating if I want to download Ugly Betty or not. I loved the previous season (3… Marc and Amanda got super-hilarious in it). Now, atas desakan ramai, I think I’m going to start watching Gossip Girl.

Is it worth my time people???

おくりびと – The Departures

Funny… Sad… Excellent!

I’ve been eyeing the DVD for a few weeks already but never really wanted to buy it. I was hoping someone (ehem… Cat) would actually own the DVD and I could borrow to watch. But after a very good review from my Aunt, I watched it last night.

It is a lovely story about a man who had a turnover. From city, back to small town after losing his job. And then, he found an ad in the newspaper, which says ‘working with departures’. He quickly assumed that it was a travel agency and accepted the job. Little that he knos, it was a funeral home.

No spoiler here. A must watch movie. I laughed hard and cried harder. In my opinion, preparing the demised for their final journey is probably one of the noblest profession. I went for Kursus Jenazah once, when I was doing my A-Level. It’s not easy. First and foremost, not for the faint-hearted, of course. Depending on the condition of the body, you must have a strong stomach. And I believe that, those who handles the dead, must respect the dead. No backtalking them bodies. No revealing personal info from the ceremony. A lot more lah that you have to prepare for.

And when The Don passed last May, I was very sad because I couldn’t help to prepare him for the last rite. The only thing that I managed to do was prepare his bath water. And I was also sad because other than my uncle and 2 cousins, non of my family members were there to kapan him. Everyone were on their way back to KK to prepare the kubur. As I sat on my seat in the plane, I made a decision to learn how to handle jenazah, from mandi to kapan, so that when the time comes, I will be able to lead it, and not just be a helper. I want to be the person who prepares my loved ones for their final journey. Insya-Allah… If God permits…

So, my friends, let’s take a minute (or in this case, 131 minutes) and humble ourselves by watching this excellent take on a profession, which sometimes have a stigma on it. I give the movie an A+!

Making sense…

Posted in Movies and TVs on August 31, 2009 by naziah

So I finally get to watch my beloved gay Austrian funtertainer; Bruno. It was horrendous, funny like mad, graphically challenging, but at the same time making sense.

A quick summary about the plot. Bruno wants to be famous, so he’s finding absurd ways to get himself famous worldwide. It includes, trying the entertainment industry, doing charity by adopting an African buy, getting world peace, asking to be kidnapped by terrorist… etc… He even tried to be straight so that he could have a leading lady by his side! Sebenarnya banyak lagi (mungkinla) tapi I couldn’t take the pressure of wanting to hate him and loving him at the same time. Also because the second half was a tad boring.

Despite all that gay stuff, one scene caught my attention and I thought in was good. It was a scene where he tried to to get world peace by putting an Israeli and Palestine leaders in a room to interview them. Bruno was talking about ‘Humus’ in actuality, he wanted to say ‘Hamas’. So both leaders tried to educate him that ‘Humus’ is food and not Hamas. I couldn’t remember the exact conversation but it goes something like this;

Leader 1: Humus is a bread. It’s vegetarian. It’s made out of beans. It’s healthy.

Leader 2: Yes. We eat it, they (pointing to L1) eat it. It’s delicious!

Bruno: So you are saying you both agree that Humus is delicious and healthy?

L1 & L2: Yes!

Bruno: See? There’s a start!

Moral of the conversation? Why just look at the differences? Why can’t everyone look at the similarity instead? Hmmm…

Oraits… Gue mau solat Subuh. Today I have a packed back-to-back appointment. Did I mentioned anywhere that I ran over Comel the cat last week? Yeah… Broke his right hind-leg. Now bersimen. Nasib baik don’t have to go for surgery… In my defence, NOT MY FAULT! Usually, whenever I start my car, he will run away. I waited 5 mins before I undur the car, and that’s when I heard it yelling and felt a bump. Nasib baik la there was on Khadeeja in the car with me. Kalau full capacity, mau hancur jugak kaki dia… Today I’m gonna pick it up from the vet. Hopefully settled in with the simen already. Sorry Comel!

Oh! Btw… Bruno gets a C+ from me, alzough ich luv Bruno, but watching his kugels bounce up and down is not my idea of fun. Beware! Not for the faint-hearted!

The Ingenious Bruno!

I bought GQ just because of him…

Must watch...

Must watch...

 An excerpt from his ‘Q&A’ in GQ;

Dear Bruno,

Is it okay for men to go “COMMANDO”?

Occasionally, but not zu often or you’ll end up having to play hacky sack mit your kugels juts to keep zem off ze ground. Personally, ich just leave off mein unterhoisen for appropriate occasions, like if I’m going to ze beach or if I’m vearing a kilt und zere’s a chance ich vill be photographed getting out of ein motorcar.

Laugh till your nose bleed my friends!

p/s: Some might not like him, but I find him annoyingly funny… :-)

I give the movie…

Posted in Movies and TVs on July 16, 2009 by naziah

… an A-

Having said that, it’s better than I imagine it would be.

I won’t spoil it for those who will be watching the movie (good luck getting the tickets if you still haven’t).

What I like about the movie;

  • Every single Ron Weasley’s scenes are funny!
  • I absolutely love the Quidditch scene.
  • Both Hermione and Ginny are getting prettier.
  • The scene in the cave, with Dumbledore and Harry, absolutely fantastic. It showed how powerful Dumbledore could get. For me, it was majestic.
  • Even Malfoy looked ’suave’ in his expensive looking suits. Very Dracula-ish…
  • And I especially love the scene where Ginny tied Harry’s shoe for him. Sigh…

Basically, I love everything about the movie. I wouldn’t change anything at all. Maybe add up a few scenes from the book (like Hagrid carrying Dumbledore’s body – to get the heartbreaking/tears fountaning effect), and more on Harry and Ginny… The movie is 180 minutes long tho. If you wanna bring ur kids, make sure they are fans of HP. Otherwise, they will get tired and sleep the through the movie.

So, was it worth my annual leave today? ABSOLUTELY…
