Di suatu ketika dulu…

Ina and I @ library 1995

Ina and I @ library 1995

“You must be one cool person in school!” Someone told me this last week. I told the person, “No, I wasn’t actually”…

What I was in sekolah rendah:

  • I made my Ketua Darjah cry in standard one ( I was the penolong ketua darjah).
  • I wanted to be a volleyball player so that I could do ’samersot-berpusing’.
  • I was a bully (I would like to apologize to a particular person for those harsh years she had to endure… CCK, I’m sorry…).
  • I made good if not the best of friends I’ve ever had (you kno who you are!).
  • I was an athlete and a good student (hence me getting a scholarship to TKC).

In sekolah menengah:

  • I was the exact opposite of me in sekolah rendah.
  • I was hardly in the highlight.
  • I was good in most of the activities (dancing, sports) but never the best.
  • I was in love.
  • I was busy writing letters to my friends from other schools (especially boys schools… heh… Gatal but never gedik ok?!).
  • I met my life partners /sisters/families here.
  • I made it to the ‘buku disiplin’ at the tender age of 14! Jangan tanya apa aku buat…
  • I used to cut people’s hair. I’m still very good at it.
  • I was not well-known to the seniors/juniors.

As far as I could remember, in my eyes, I was just a normal teenager, fighting a war with jerawat and enraged love hormone… I was never cool… :-)

Love, is a many splendoured things…

… and these guys are five of the reasons… Fell in and never out of love with NKOTB and I’m so excited about their new single (I think coming out this month…). Bless them for growing up graciously from cute boys to gorgeous men (except for Danny Wood. He look like the Joker from Batman).

They are back!

I don’t kno if you guys heard, but NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK is making a comeback! I love them. I’ve loved them back in 1990 (that’s when I was exposed to them), and I still love them now. I still think Jordan Knight is one of the sexiest man alive. I never fancy Joey McIntyre. He’s too cute. Donnie Wahlberg was the coolest. Danny Wood was the best dancer among them. And Jonathan Knight was tall…. Really, really tall… Maybe because I was small. I mean, I’m still very small, but I was even smaller back then. I’m bloody excited about this whole comeback thingy. Most definitely will be buying their album instead of downloading it for free. I’m so giddy now… Better go and sleep before I start searching for their concerts and video clips….. If you wanna listen to a snippet of their new single, click here.

The one with the 90’s

Posted in Ol' Skool on October 30, 2007 by naziah

I like this type of topic… Reminiscing about the happer times when I don’t have to earn the money to live… Sigh… Just some of my favourite stuff in the 90’s:

“My name is Inigo Montoya… You killed my father… Prepare to die…” – an excerpt from the movie; The Princess Bride. Cary Elwes was one of the sexiest and funniest actor at that time. Another movie that he acted in was Robin Hood, Prince of Tights. F-U-N-N-Y!

Wet, Wet, Wet was another group that I like (besides NKOTB). If you are not familiar with them, their songs includes Love is all around, Julia says, Goodnight girl, and my favourite song, How long.

Fox Mulder was the ‘it’ guy back then. I mean, how can you not love him?! He’s funny, he’s cute, he likes UFOs (err… some might find that appealing…)…

I dunno why they never continue Asia Bagus. Najip Ali is the koolest VJ ever! He’s the pioneer of all VJs! An excellent show and the contestants were good (unlike some of the contestants in AF or watever singing contest they have now).

Kiss from a rose was the theme song of 1995 (94?). Back when Val Kilmer was still hot and not fat, and Nicole Kidman was the sexy psychologist. I remembered looking at Seal’s picture for the first time and trying to scratch off the ‘kudis’ from his face. Heh…

Moero Attack! At this point, EVERYONE wanted to be a volleyball player that can pukul bola like piring terbang and do sommersault berpusing when spiking the ball. Believe me when I say, don’t even think about trying it, it ain’t gonna happen. Almost broke my arms when I fell after trying to ‘berpusing’ on air… D****SS!

BTW, a quick baby update. We went for the 5/6 months injection on Saturday. She’s currently 7.1kg and 70cm long. Dunno wat’s the head circumference is. She don’t look big but as what Su Yin said, she will have endless legs, while the mommy only have toes… Heh…

1995 was a good year!

If you are one of my classmates/dormmates, you’ll remember this book. It was my journal back in our final year in school. I took (ripped the pictures off) from the National Geographic Magazine in our library. Lucky I never get caught by Kak Zainon.

Here’s some of the journal entries that might be interesting:

Notice the date? According to the journal, on 2nd Aug 1995, we took pictures for Saujana. I’m guessing we don’t have classes and started berpeleseran everywhere. I think me and Zizie tried to include our face in all of the club pictures… Even the ones that we don’t belong to… Heeheehee…

A piece from our desk wrapper thingy. And also Elynor’s address… Hahahaha! Mummy-O, if you have a stalker, this post is a good place for them… Got your address and phone number (if it never change la)…

This is my FAVOURITE part of the journal. As per my prior post, I collect quotes and stuff. These are some taken from other school yearbooks, seminars…etc… Especially to WIDIE: “Aku adalah aku. Aku bukan kamu, kamu bukan aku…”….. Muahahahaha!

Dedicated to budak-budak yang ambik nihongo kat TKC… I’m suddenly emotional and sad… teringat zaman sekolah dulu…. Teka-teki: dalam banyak-banyak ‘mi’, mi apa yang garang? Muahahahahahaah!!!

Down the memory lane

It’s my turn to share ol’skool pictures… Here’s all the 5th Former of Tun Fatimah on a Sunday house meeting in 1995.

Here’s me and Ina in the library. Me doing an impression of Kak Zainon wearing her sunnies… That’s her actual sunglass that I found (or busy-bodily korek from her laci)…

I love this picture of Zizie and me looking all mob-like after being forced to repel down the cliff. It was Kem motivasi for the Fifth former.

And here’s Widie and me during the ‘Pool Party’

Here’s my room in UIA. I was so into ‘A Walk To Remember’ at that time. And I love my messy room!

And lastly, me during a volleyball match. I think it’s of of the inter-varsity game… Can’t remember which one…
