Do you want to build a snowman?

I know this review comes a little bit delayed. No excuse. But I’m ready to give this movie an A+.

It’s been so long that I actually enjoyed a Disney movie. The characters, the storyline, the songs… Especially the songs.

It’s a story of two opposites. Elsa, the cool yet paranoid sister, and Anna, the quirky, eager to fall in love sister. Born with the power of snow, Elsa had to hide her ability after she accidentally hit Anna with it.

Hold on… i seriously don’t know how to write this review properly without squealing and singing every few seconds. I believe most of you have seen it so, am not gonna go into details. I’m just gonna share what I love about the movie.

I’ve never seen my daughters get so excited about a movie. It’s such a big deal in our house now that I just had to download the movie immediately (sorry Disney…). May I just suggest that you release the DVD as soon as possible? Thanks. Anyway, Olaf is our favorite man(snow) now. Whatever they do, it always ends up with one of them asking the others; “what’s the magic word?”. Good manners, eh?

Elsa and Anna… Everyone in this house wants to be either Elsa or Anna. The eldest even wanted Elsa’s dress and hairstyle for her Year End Party at school. I managed to get the Anna doll and now frantically looking for Elsa and Olaf. The best part about the movie is the soundtrack. From the opening number until the end. It’s awesome. Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell did a fantastic job. The girls made me buy the soundtrack from iTunes as soon as they know it’s in it. I had to listen to ‘let it go’ a few times a day and I don’t mind the song at all. I find myself singing to it as well. Good lyrics, great tune. Is it nominated in any award show this year? If it isn’t, it should!

Bored with this review? I know… I’m sorry. I’m not in the mood to write anything but I know I have to write something. Well, if you haven’t seen it yet, go and watch it. If you have, do you want to build a snowman?

The Desolation Of Smaug According To Naziah Nawawie

Am gonna write this review not as a literature lover, but as a normal person watching a great (GREAT) movie.

Soooo, first of all, I think this one is much better than the first one. I didn’t fall asleep this time. A lot of good scenes but too many good scenes. I mean, I pity Beorn. I bet by the end of the movie people actually forgot about him. I didn’t read the book so I don’t know if he is THAT important to be included in the movie. I hope he will re-emerge in the next movie or else seriously, they could’ve save some cost and time by cutting that scene off.

Secondly, why oh why is my boyfriend’s father prettier than him? And why oh why does my boyfriend looks not so flawless in this supposedly prequel? Make him prettier than every single elves in that movie. I demand of it, please? No? Ok… Having said that, Legolas is still very fluid. His movements are just so ballerina like. Love it love it love it! Tauriel is not bad as well. I like the fact that she likes Kili better than Legolas (you know that I only say that because I want to be Legolas’ girlfriend right?). So anyway, we now know that the Elves are not a peaceful and graceful species like potrayed in LOTRs. They do get drunk and they are very vengeful.

Thirdly, there was a moment (a few actually) that I was thinking of dumping Legolas for a human. Bard the gorgeous widower is just so cleaner looking than Aragorn. So I assume he will be the one who will kill Smaug with the black arrow in the next movie.

Fourthly, I now can identify some of the mighty men of Erebor. Bombur is the cute redhead with the round tummy. Fili and Kili are the brothers. Balin is the old dude. And the rest I still get confused but I know one of them is Gimli’s dad. And Thorin, is very charismatic. The lack of height did not make him a lesser leader.  I absolutely love one scene between him and Bard;

Bard: You have no right to enter that mountain.

Thorin: I have the ONLY right!

Lastly, Bilbo and Gandalf. They are important but they are not that important. How is that? Bilbo doesn’t shine that much in this movie but he is the one who solved almost every single problem faced by the dwarves. And Gandalf is Gandalf. No one can say anything bad about Gandalf. He’s just too iconic. Next halloween, if you want to be famous, be Gandalf.

After almost 3 hours of sitting down with no end to the movie just yet, I say it’s a B+. I still like LOTRs better. Ooh! And I forgot about Smaug the Stupendous. Beautiful dragon with a sexy voice (biasness alert because of B Cumberbatch). 🙂

I told you that I’m gonna do the review like this so don’t complain! Just read and let’s just agree to disagree.

I am blaming this mood swing on implanon. No period followed by bloatedness and backpain is making me emotional.

And with the school holidays and all, the girls are so bored that they start to make me crazy by not leaving me alone. No, friends. Not even when I had to go to the toilet. Ikutilah perbualan kami:

A: Mommy! Mommy berak ka?

M: Yes.

A: Mommy! Lepas Mommy berak Mommy buat apa?

M: Cuci.

A: Lepas Mommy cuci Mommy buat apa?

M: ……………………………..

K: Oooooohhhhh… We have a Samsung (pronounced it with an American accent) fridge. Oooooooohhhhh!

M: It’s been there since forever Khadeeja.

K: Owwwh really?????? (Pronounce it with a southern American accent).

M: …………………………………………..

Y: Mommy! Ci Ameena kaci ci Patima makan iya punya kakiiiiii!

M: …………………………..

Endless. With the hair pulling and the spitting and the slapping. Endless. I try not to scream but it seems that the only way for me not to scream is for me to not be at home. So here I am, typing this peacefully in my office. I have another 1 hour and 53 minutes to enjoy checking out my FB without having an extra pair of eyes stealing glances at my phone asking every few minutes “who is that girl?” “is she your friend?” “can i see Aunty Widie’s FB?”…. Adios!
